Dr Kallia Katsampoxaki-Hodgetts is a researcher in language education, literacies, and multiliteracies, with over twenty years of teaching experience in Science Communication and Technical and Scientific Writing at the University of Crete. Since 2024, she has been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Ioannina, Department of Primary Education, conducting research on multiliteracies and multimodality in science education, under the supervision of Professor Anastasios Emvalotis.

Her research focuses on the design of teaching scenarios for primary science education, with or without the use of Artificial Intelligence, aiming to foster multiliteracies, scientific literacy, and active citizenship.

She is the author of the books:

  • Shaping the Learning of the Future: Educational Assessment and the Design of an Inclusive, Lived and Democratic Curriculum (Disigma Publications, 2025),
  • Teaching Literacies and Multimodality: A Reflexive and Transformative Approach in the Digital Era (co-authored with B. Cope & M. Kalantzis, Disigma Publications, 2024),

Dr Katsampoxaki-Hodgetts is the Founder and Academic Director of the International EAP Crete Conference, a biennial event dedicated to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Science Communication. She is also actively involved in European projects such as INGENIUM and COALITION Erasmus+, promoting Inclusive Student-Centred Pedagogy (IScP) and faculty development in higher education.
