The Doctoral Studies Program of the Department of Materials Science and Technology awards the Doctoral Degree (PhD), in accordance with the provisions of Law 4957/2022 (Government Gazette 861/12-3-2018).

The program aims to create scientists-researchers, capable of contributing to the promotion of research, technology and higher education in the field of Materials Science and Engineering in cutting-edge thematic areas, covering a wide field of research in soft matter, biomaterials, semiconductors, optoelectronic and magnetic materials. Materials scientists and engineers are increasingly focusing on testing atomic and mesoscopic structures to regulate the properties of materials. This pursuit has pushed the Materials sector to the forefront of developing and applying new tools and techniques for observing and manipulating matter on a very small scale.
