The postgraduate student of our Department, Vassilios Tsampallas, participated in the annual summer school of the European Investment Bank, which took place from 24 June 2024 to 6 July 2024 in Luxembourg, he reports on his experience:

“I’m excited to share my experience from the EIB Summer School, a two-week program that united 80 students from 23 European universities. As a Master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering, I was thrilled to be part of this prestigious event.The first week was online, followed by an immersive on-site week at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. A standout moment was meeting EIB President Nadia Calviño, who shared the bank’s mission with enthusiasm and insight. We also visited the European Stability Mechanism (ESM).Participating in the project group was particularly enriching. Engaging in interactive sessions and case studies provided valuable insights into project management and development. I am grateful to Shiva Dustdar, Head of the EIB Institute, and to Silja Bellinger, Ana Maria Stanescu, and Anna Canato, PhD, for their meticulous organization and leadership.A heartfelt thank you to the trainees and fellow students whose support made this experience unforgettable. The diverse perspectives and lasting friendships I gained are truly invaluable. This program reinforced the value of taking risks and pursuing ambitious goals”.
