Research Interests

The current research activities include:
  • Study of hydrogen, methane and Carbon dioxide adsorption in C-based materials, Metal Organic Frameworks and Covalent Organic Frameworks.
  • Ab-initio investigation of structural and electronic properties, of organic and inorganic molecules.
  • Programming and development of Grand Canonical Monte Carlo and Molecular Dynamics applications.

Short Curriculum Vitae

Manolis Tylianakis has received the B.Sc. in Physics of the University of Crete in 1992. He obtained his doctoral degree in Physical Chemistry from the Chemistry Department of the University of Crete in 1997 with work on molecular dynamics of natural and synthetic polymers and biopolymers in dilute solution by the aid of 13C NMR Spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. From 2001 to 2003 he was a visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science & Technology at the University of Crete.
